On 8 April, Lithchat is announcing its new look, featuring a new content management system. the old Wordpress system worked well enough, but it had its fair share clumsy aspects, and I got sick of how ugly it all looked. If you had a username and password for the old system, yes, you will have to get a new one. (This has nothing to do with the picture uploading password system.)

This page works basically the same as the previous one, except that it has more functionality and we'll be able to accomplish much more with the various components--especially the Įvykių Kalendorius.

My goal for this new site is to have some new content every weekday, thereby making this a rather common place to go to for news, links, information, etc.--not just photos. Of course, for that to happen, I need help from other content providers--that is, from you. If you register, you can start submitting content right away. Eventually, we'll move to a more moderation/voting/rating-based system, but for now, I just want stuff up.

Finally, I know it's pretty text-heavy for now, but that's mostly since I don't feel like adding the appropriate graphics quite yet for different categories and such. Besides, if you want graphics, go over to the Photo Datafill and fill your eyes there.

Oh, and as a postscript: this site will feature content in at least Lithuanian and English. The bulk of the front-end has been localized to Lithuanian to encourage Lithuanian-language contribution, but there is no requirement or demand for such.
